ART at 5 Anderson was a summer artist residency and public art initiative in downtown New Rochelle, developed in partnership with Residency Unlimited and the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District. The program brought a group of contemporary artists into an apartment building under renovation at 5 Anderson Street, transforming its storefront and shared spaces into a temporary site for artistic experimentation and community engagement.

Moving beyond the traditional studio model, the residency encouraged artists to respond to everyday urban life through installations, performances, and pop-up exhibitions presented in storefronts and public spaces across downtown, including the area around Ruby Dee Park at Library Green. Throughout the summer, artists developed participatory and socially engaged projects that interacted directly with residents and visitors, culminating in open studios, informal events, and public presentations that activated the neighborhood as a space for creative exchange.
