Arteeast and the Sharjah Foundation - The March MEeting

As Executive Director of ArteEast, we collaborated with Sharjah Art Foundation to develop the third edition of the March Meeting, an annual convening of artists, curators, and cultural institutions from across the Middle East, North Africa, and the international art world. Held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the three-day gathering brought together more than fifty institutions and practitioners to present current initiatives, exchange ideas, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Working closely with the Foundation, we helped shape the evolving format of the meeting as a platform for dialogue and partnership-building within the region’s rapidly developing contemporary art ecosystem. The program combined keynote talks, seminars, and project presentations with more informal discussion formats—such as the introduction of “Dardashat,” open project exchanges that allowed participants to share emerging ideas and challenges. The meeting contributed to establishing what has since become one of the region’s key annual forums for institutional exchange and cultural collaboration.
