As a continuation of the research model initiated with the Dirt & Debt residency, Food Futures at Residency Unlimited explored how artists investigate the complex relationships between the built environment, food systems, and climate precarity. Over the course of the residency, participants developed projects that examined how creative practice can respond to and reimagine food resilience and food justice. The residency culminated in a virtual symposium and exhibition, co-presented with Isin Onol, which showcased these collaborative explorations and fostered dialogue around sustainable practices, community engagement, and the artist’s role in shaping equitable, climate-conscious futures. The entire program moved online due to the pandemic, opening new possibilities for participatory engagement across distance.
